Wholesale Spas and Pools is your one-stop shop whether you're looking for a portable spa, gazebo or an above ground pool. You'll want to stop in even if you're looking for supplies, parts or service for your spa or pool, no matter what the brand name.

Owner Jeff Lightsey has proudly been carrying Catalina portable spas for 15 years along with all of Catalina's gazebo products.

A wide variety of spas and gazebos awaits you at Wholesale Spas and Pools on Bear Valley Road in Hesperia.

"Catalina's quality and their integrity is unbeatable as are their price points.

Catalina was the first manufacturer to come out with a stereo system, the first to come out with a spa with a TV. Everyone follows them," Lightsey said.

Catalina has 30 different models to choose from, ranging from 5-by-7-feet to 8-by-11-feet. Wholesale Spas and Pools has 18 of these models on display in their Bear Valley showroom.

"While we have models with up to four pumps, we also sell a lot of two-seaters to people who live in mobile homes and retirement communities," Lightsey said.

Lightsey and his wife Diane moved to the High Desert in 1988 from Riverside.

They are married 19 years with a son and daughter, Chris, 17, and Jessica, 15.

Lightsey took over a store on "I" Avenue in Hesperia, and ten years ago moved to the Bear Valley location.

His favorite hobby is fishing. "When I get the time, I love to take my boat out, mostly to Silverwood Lake," he said.

Wholesale Spas and Pools will be in the Desert Community Bank building at the Home Show for the 14th year.

"People can take advantage of our 2005 models, which we need to find a home for as well as taking advantage of the 2006 models. November is the month Catalina introduces their new models," he said.

Lightsey has seen many changes in his years in the business. "I think the biggest change is the technology that is put into the equipment, particularly the controls. They are really small PC's. We have systems you can call up on your phone and activate your spa," he said. "We have a 44-inch plasma screen in one of the spas that lifts out with hydraulics. Of course stereo systems in spas is a big thing. And our starting point in jets is now 22. Most people go with 45-75 jets. Motor-wise you're looking at a minimum double or triple pump system," he said. "When I started, there was only one pump with five jets. Have fun," he laughed.

Wholesale Spa and Pools is located at 14747 Bear Valley Road in Hesperia, across from John's Incredible Pizza. They can be reached at (760) 949-1331.
